VERRUCAE (Plantar Warts)

Patience, patience, patience, yes and a little bit more if you are an adult.

Verrucae is a virus that can be very difficult to eradicate.

Over the counter remedies may work, if treated in the early stages. However Verrucae tend to grow in clusters and appear to have a mosaic effect. There are actually five layers to a verruca. Unlike warts which grow outwardly, plantar warts are pushed up into the sole of the feet due to pressure.

In most cases the immunity system with children aged upto 14 will naturally learn to kill  the virus, although it does look unsightly, the clinic adopts the policy not to treat children of this age bracket.  Sometimes treatment with Cryotherapy (if needed) can prove too uncomfortable.
